Students Management System for Teachers College Maharagama.

Abstract

The Teachers College of Maharagama is a government Institute which has celebrated its 107th Anniversary on 2010. It has being of great service to the nation for more than hundred years. The management of the Teachers College has decided to make their day to day activities more efficient. So, they have initiated to have a Student Management System with a Web Site to enhance the productivity of their services. Some of the goals are to provide and improve the quality of the working standard among stakeholders and to provide good automated environment with timely decision making ability. This system will increase efficiency, productivity and reliability whilst reducing cost and wastage. The developed system will work from the registration of the students for the academic year by calling applicants according to the rules and regulations of the government while maintaining the student register according to their subject stream and to allocate lectures to the groups. It will concern about the maintaining student and lecture profile and also to maintain academic and non academic staff. It will allow accessing the system through the web site. T he system will be helpful to handle the payments of the staff and to conduct examinations. And also to access the library. The project was implemented using PHP 5 as the programming language and mySQL 5 as the database. To draw UML diagrams Net Beans and MS Word were used.
