Abstract: Mega Steels (pvt) Ltd is a well-established general hardware merchant which sells all kind of building materials as whole sale and retail. The business was started its operation in the year of 2006, and now it has a strong customer network around Kandy district. Since its establishment the organization is running on a traditional manual system to perform whole business processes. Manual system has many limitations which makes the business processes inefficient. Financial accounting is an important as well as a complex task for any company. Completing accounting tasks by manual system has many drawbacks such as time consuming, increased level of human errors, inaccuracy, etc. The AccPro Account Management System is proposed as a solution for simplify the accounting processes of Mega Steels (pvt) Ltd. Current business and accounting practices have been analyzed throughout this project. The system is developed to process core accounting processes of the organization such as general ledger, sales management, purchase management, inventory control, and banking. Essential financial statements and management reports can be generated by this system. Complex double entry processes are automated with this system. Rational unified process was selected as development methodology for this project. The system is developed using three-tier architecture and object oriented design techniques were employed to design the system. Unified modelling language was used in analysis and design stage of this project. Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 was used to develop the system along with Microsoft SQL Server as DBMS. C#. Net was used as a programing language for this system. AccPro Account Management System has been developed as a simplified accounting solution to full fill the requirement of Mega Steels (pvt) Ltd. The system is ensuring high usability and smooth operation to end users. The developed system would help to carry out their day to day accounting task in an easiest way.
