Title: HOTEL RESERVATION SYSTEM FOR HOTEL RANDIYA

Abstract: Hotel Randiya is a newly opened Hotel which has Restaurant, Rooms and Wedding Halls. The Hotel is situated in Moratuwa. The Room Reservation, Booking a hall for a wedding and other main processes are done in the main office of the hotel. The Hotel reserve to the guest mainly, booking wedding halls, reserve rooms, helps to arrange birthday parties and also official parties, get-together parties. These processes were done by manually up to now. The management of the hotel randiya was decided to not suitable for handles a manual file system which has caused data redundancy and inconsistency. The administration has faced problems while making decisions because of this system. Due to the expansion of the business, the increasing competition and the need of additional facilities, hotel management have decided to shift into an efficient and effective computerized system which will provide speed and timely services. The proposed system has to include functionalities to support smooth and effective service management process. The system should assist payment collection process and a report generation facility. According to the present Software Engineering theories and by studding the problem domain, the waterfall model was identified as the most suitable development methodology based an its flexible development theory. The system was developed using PHP (PHP Hypertext Processor) open source server side scripting language. MySQL was used as the database tool for designing the database. Apache web server was chosen to run the system. Additionally, notepad++ was chosen as the coding tool. The system is developed using WAMP server (Windows, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) and www.gliffy.com website used for designing diagrams. The developed system enables keep track of information of rooms (types, rates, conditions.) guest, managing User Accounts, Handle Payments, Generate Reports, Mail management and provide effective communication between system users. The wastage of the time and service of the hotel and the difficulties faced by the guests have been successfully addressed by the Hotel Randiya.
