Title: Inventory and Stock Management System For Ceylon Fisheries Corporation

Abstract: Ceylon Fisheries Corporation is a leading commercial organization monitoring and promoting fish production and trade for the benefit of consumer and producer .The main activities are local purchase of fish and fisheries by products, wholesale and distributer of fish products in Sri Lanka. It has branches and stalls for purchase and sale of fish products island wide. Presently all records are maintain manually in head office and branches. All purchases and sales and distributions of stocks are recorded manually. All accounting records for revenue and expenditure are maintained on manual system. As this is a large commercial organization maintaining records on manual system is not suitable due to inaccuracy and inconsistency of records and the delay in updating records and non-availability of up to date information for management to make decision. As a solution for this situation it is better to use web base system to achieve Corporation goal and objectives. The proposed solution aims at Material management, Purchase management, Sales management, Distribution management, Quotation management and generate business reports. To build this system object oriented approach has been chosen. Php and Mysql are open source server side and database language. To work with server side php and to hadle database Mysql has been chosen. Client side validations are done using Jquery and Ajax. XAMPP sever was used to develop the system. Further analysis and design UML diagrams were used. The new system has been developed to overcome the existing problems and make the stock management process more effective and efficient.
