Abstract: New Global Polymers (Pvt) Ltd is a manufacturer and exporter of High Density Polyethyelene, Low Density Polyethyelene, T-Shirts, Carrier Bags, Food Wrapping Sheets, Butcher Bags, Bin Liners and Bags on Rolls. At present company has more than 100 employees but HR department does the employee payroll transactions manually and it takes much time to process the salary end of the month. As a solution for this issue the management decides to automate their payroll transactions using a computer based information system. Therefore I proposed a Web based Payroll management system so that it is reliable and easily accessible from distributed locations with high level of performance. Main functionality of the system is to capture the salary information, calculate allowances, deductions and leave calculations. End of the month individual s salary slip will be generated including all the EPF, ETF calculations. In addition to the above, the loan management is also a part of this application. This will capture all the details of loans obtained by employees and calculate monthly deduction amount. Also system will calculate the OT hour s payment for each employee. System will generate the basic transaction reports like pay slips, EPF/ETF summaries and also the MIS reports that will be used by the management for decision making. Systems developed according to the three-tier architecture and also object oriented techniques. Unified Modelling Language was used in the analysis and design stages of the project. Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 was used to implement the system in C# .NET language web environment and Microsoft SQL server 2008 as the data base [7, 9]. Accordingly, the proposed web based system would facilitate the client to operate their payroll transactions in an efficient, reliable manner that can be handled via diverse locations. This would also allow the management to view the employee details and the salary information s to efficient decision making.
