Title: WEB BASED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR GRAMA NILADHARI OF YAHALAWELA PARISH IN BALANGODA DIVISION

Abstract: Mr.Senarath Nandalal is the grama niladhari of Yahalewela parish in Balangoda division. In our country grama niladari is the responsible government officer for keeping every record in his operational area. They have to record every people in his area separately by male and female, how many properties they have such as number of vehicles, records for some valuable trees, wells, taps etc, chief occupant list etc. Also they have to carry out many tasks such as recover the government income and charges, social service tasks, people registration tasks, duties regarding timber, election duties ..etc. Mr.Nandalal manages all these tasks manually. As a result, he is facing problems of a manual system like data redundancy, data inaccuracy and it causes to delay the decision making process due to unavailability of timely reports and information. It is required to computerize the functions which are done manually, to save the time and eliminate the difficulties and complexity to improve the efficiency of management. The main objective of this project is to provide a solution which could cover most of the grama niladharis? works that are done manually at present, and improve the efficiency of management within the time frame allocated for the BIT project. So this system provides many facilities such as government income and charges recovering, social service tasks management, management of election duties, managing statistics information, diary management, certificate issuing management, application management, letter registration, generating timely reports etc. The grama niladhari management system was developed based on Rational Unified Process model. It is a web based application and will be hosted locally in the office of grama niladhari. The system is developing within the Object Oriented concepts and the requirements analysis and design aspects of the system was take the advantage of the Unified Modeling Language (UML). The system is developing using Java 6 and MySQL 5.6 as the back end of the system. Further most of the grama niladhari tasks were automated by this system, enhancing the effectiveness, efficiency, reliability safety and productivity of the works of the client.
