Title: eRecruitment System for Global Management Consultancy

Abstract: Global Management Consultancy (GMC) is a growing recruitment agency in Sri Lanka that provides a range of value added services to its clients with outsourced recruitment processes. When considering the time spent upon recruitment administrative tasks, it has been identified that the current manual paper filing and record keeping system is not efficient and cost-effective. The designed web based recruitment system has been emerged to address some of these issues with existing system and also in order to be enhanced the business process along with the modern technology. This new system is capable to provide many facilities to employers such as job posting, resume screening, interview management, manage company profile while the job seekers can experience the facilities of manage profiles, search vacancies and apply them, view status of jobs applications and view interview schedules. An authorized consultant from the Global Management Consultancy also can log into the system as the administrator to manage and control employers and job seekers profiles and activities. Also this consultant can upload site news and view user feed backs too. The eRecruitment system is developed with the aid of model view controller (MVC) architecture and object oriented techniques. The unified modeling language (UML) has been used for analyzing and designing of the system. XAMPP [1] which is a free and open source cross-platform web server solution package, has been used to facilitate the Apache HTTP server as the web server, MySQL database as the database handler, and hypertext pre-processor (PHP) as the server side programming language. With this web based recruitment system, the job seekers can manage their jobs searches till receive interview schedules. The employers can manage from job posting to placement by enjoying considerable savings of time efforts as well as cost on administrative tasks and stationery materials. Overall functionality of the system is providing an efficient and effective solution to the issues that has with the existing manual system.
