Web Based Work Flow Management System for Swiss Biogenics Limited.

Abstract

Humans in the world has changed their life to a very complicated status. They have to manage their time and resources very efficiently and accurately in their day-to-day life. They have to face business competitors when making decisions relating to business & management. Thus Information Technology helps them in many ways to make their decisions. Business Managers improve their businesses by using Information Systems correctly and efficiently. Swiss Biogenics is one of the largest Pharmaceuticals Importers and Distributors in Sri Lanka. Therefore the Company goes through a complex management and business process every day, importation, marketing, sales, human resources management, stock handling and distribution are few of them. The Company has large number of employees where their HR work flow should be faster and easier to process. The manual process handled in the recruitment is automated in this study. Sales improvement is the most essential process that should look into comply with this, company sales system, distribution system, marketing and importation related functions and worker motivation techniques have to be scrutinized to find a sustainable solution. Currently the essential calculations are done using spread sheet applications. Sometimes it is erroneous and leads to cause many problems. Real time monitoring is difficult as there is no proper way unless using manual calculations. But the obligation of the company is to achieve sales target in time. To do so efficient decision making, implementing and monitoring are required. To implement the system, backend database is based on "MS SQL server 2008R2", and for the development of the frontend application "ASP.NET 2010" is used as a programming language. In addition to those Software "Smart Draw" is used as a third party software to illustrate diagrams. This dissertation contains all work carried out during the project, including Analysis, Design, Implementation and Testing. It describes all the required details in order to understand the project.
