SMS based Server Monitoring and Administration System for Cinergix (Pvt) Ltd

Abstract

The server room infrastructure of Cinergix private limited has been running without having real-time administration from outside of their network. Therefore it is very important having real time monitoring and administration for decreasing critical circumstances and keep all the relevant services on highly productive stage. One of the major problems being faced by the engineers of the company is, it is time consuming effort attending to the system failure anytime from anywhere. Especially in irregular working hours. Some of the special goals of the proposed system are to provide the users of the system an effective, efficient and less time consuming with ease of access to the system. The system will automate some critical processes such as short message service listening process, service listening process while checking services and keep track of the events of the system performs and generating reports. The project was implemented under open source platform. Mysql is used as the database server and coding was done using shell scripts and php. Centos Linux operating system was used as operating system. The system prior to complete deployment, underwent a series of tests to ensure that the new system meets the required levels of the intended audience. With the proposed system, it simplifies tasks of system administrator s by automating services of the critical systems and main purpose is to maintain the availability of the live production infrastructure with minimum downtime. Also they expect to improve the quality of service and maintain better standard of their service infrastructure providing the best service to their clients
