ONLINE INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR SINAAM MEDICARE

Abstract

The Sinaam Medicare, a Unani medical Centre in Paragahadeniya, is one of the indis-pensable medical services point. With the increase number of patients, visiting cus-tomers apparently it has become difficult to manage all the services. To overcome such inefficiencies, Sinaam Medicare has decided to implement a computerized system for ease the day to day activities of all the intend parties of this medical service. By using Online Sinaam Information Management System (OSIMS) doctors, patients, pharma-cists would be able to do their work efficiently and effectively. OSIMS was developed including some components such as dispensary, patient record, pharmacy and service management. Also it contains some features such as patient reg-istration and summarized report, Panchakarma treatment; booking, handling pharmacy sales, search functionality, reminding functionalities, bills and report generation and so on. The system was developed using PHP (PHP Hypertext Processor) open source server side scripting language. MySQL was used as the database tool for designing the data-base. Wamp web server was chosen to run the system. Additionally, Adobe Dream-weaver CS6 was chosen as the coding tool, Adobe Photoshop CS6 was chosen as the interface designing tool and Adobe Flash CS6 was chosen as the Animation tool in the main stage of the OSIMS developing. According to the present Software Engineering theories and by studying the problem domain, the Rational Unified Process (RUP) was identified as the most suitable devel-opment methodology based on its flexible developing theory and related advantages in comparison to other software methodologies. Online Sinaam Information Management System has been designed to fulfill the user and system requirements. The system would assist the Admin, Doctor, and Pharmacist of Sinaam Medicare to manage their process. It could also help the patient to check their history and the visiting details.
