Web Based Inventory/ Employee Management System, POS and e-commerce Solution for Senadheera Multy Traders

Abstract

Senadheera Multy Traders is a reputed shop for selling electronic and other home appliances in Gampaha district. They even have several branches all over the district. They still use a manual file based system to handle their sales and employee information. They issue hand written bills and invoices to the customers and their suppliers. And it s not an easy job to manage several branches. The proposed solution is a web based system for them to manage their sales in all branches and their employees in the branches. Using a web based system allows the manager or the owner to manage and view activity in every branch without visiting them separately. Development process of the system is done by using web supported tools and languages. PHP is the development language used and MySQL has been used as the DBMS. User Interface (UI) is completed using HTML 4.1, CSS2/3, jQuery and Bootstrap. PHP is powerful free and open source server side scripting language and it supports Object Oriented programming from version 5. MySQL is also free and open source which is used in even large scale enterprise applications. Notepad++, Adobe Dreamweaver and Sublime Text are used to code the entire system and Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Illustrator are used to create web graphics. Object oriented methodology and iterative methodologies will be used to develop the system.
