Web based Workshop Details Management System for Sunera Foundation

Abstract

Sunera Foundation is a charitable organization. They are mainly doing Drama and Theater workshops for differently abled people. After a completion of workshop, the trainers have to send weekly reports to inform the head office about the progress of the workshops. At present those reports are sending through registered post. Then the salaries for those trainers are also calculated manually using the information gathered from those reports. Also there is no proper way of recoding the differently abled participant details & employees? details. Until very recent, the workshops were managed with the manual file system. As a result, the administration was facing problems of a manual system like data redundancy, data inaccuracy and delay in decision making due to unavailability of timely reports and information. The web based Workshop Details Management System is built to overcome some of the problems and inefficiencies of the current manual system. This solution is built in a way to cover the overall administration processes of the workshops, such as participants? details management, Workshop Employees Management, Workshop Payroll Management, Employee Performance Tracking and Report Generation. Further, the best part is the web based system makes it possible to monitor the workshop processes from any location. The system has adapted Model View Controller (MVC) architecture and Object Oriented techniques. Hypertext Pre-processor (PHP) was used to build the system and Apache has been used as the web server, meanwhile MySQL was used to handle databases. Since this is a web based system, it could be operated either in Windows environment and unix / linux. Web based Workshop Details Management System has been designed to fulfill the user and system requirements. The system would assist the management of sunera foundation to monitor and manage the processes. It could also help the trainers to work efficiently through this newly introduced web based system.
