Title: Reception Hall Management System for Samupa Reception Hall

Abstract:  Samupa Reception Hall is a sub section of Co-operative Rural Bank in Multipurpose Cooperative society of Panduwasnuwara. It was established under the supervision of Cooperative society to provide high quality services for organizing special events of customers . Since its establishment Samupa uses a manual system to carry out their day today tasks with heavy paper works. Further they haven t any adequate knowledge about information system or new technologies. Due to above reasons all the staff members at the reception hall have to spend more time to perform record keeping and report generating by doing same thing repeatedly. At the customer end he has to phone or come to the Samupa to make reservations. To overcome these difficulties and to provide better service, management of the Samupa has interested in developing a web based system solution to facilitate their core business functions. The proposed system for Samupa is a web-based system, which has been implemented using PHP server-side scripting language with the help of MVC architecture. The implemented system has used WAMP server as the testing server, and MySql as the database management system. The system can be accessed using all major web browsers including Internet Explorer 7 onwards, Firefox 4 or newer, and Google Chrome. The proposed web based system consists of core business functions of the Samupa . Such as Hall reservation, Food and Beverage reservation, Payment Collection, User Management, Hall Availability Management, Daily Expenditure Handling and generate reports . The newer system has comprehensively tested to ensure the reliability and to restore the system any case which may happen in a system failure. This will bring benefits to the Samupa to achieve their objectives by the effective use of time management and reducing cost for manual effort.
