Authors: Buddhika, W.A.A.
Issue Date: 16-May-2015
Abstract: SecureSoul is a private security services provider, which provides security services to private and public sector. Security services offered by SecureSoul to clients includes security guarding services, traffic control, access control, CCTV surveillance, asset protection, event security, mobile patrolling, security system operations and control room operation. SecureSoul may provide total security function to the client or selected services based on the client s requirements. Frequent status reports sent to the client including updates on incidents as per service level agreement (SLA) between client and SecureSoul. Incident is an event that could lead to loss or disruption to client s business operations, services or functions. It is important to handle incidents at earliest and take necessary remedies to avoid escalation into a crisis or disaster. Incident management is the process of limiting the potential disruption caused by such an event, followed by a return to business as usual. Therefore, once an incident reported it is well documented and followed by a post incident investigation to ensure proper precautions and controls are established to prevent a repetition of the incident. This solution developed to provide timely access to incident details as current manual methods use to record incidents is inefficient and inaccurate. In addition, computerized system would ensure timely access and accurate information, reduces paper usage. The solution fulfills the needs of the security staff, particularly control room operators, security supervisors and manager. Proposed solution automates Incident Management and Investigation process and its activities. SDLC is the development methodology used in this project considering the nature of the solution. The solution developed using Visual Basic as the development platform and SQL server as the DBMS.
