Transport Management System for Silver Shore Holidays (Pvt) Ltd

Abstract

The Silver Shore Holidays is a travel company in the forefront in the fields of leisure and tourism. Silver Shore Holidays primary focus is on innovation, producing high quality services with a personalized touch for their customers. It has been identified that their vehicle schedules, guides etc. overlap leading to not being able to deliver the service to the customer appropriately. They have been maintained a manual record system to keep the tours, customers, driver, guides and their payments details. In order to overcome the problems in the manual procedure the client is required to have a web based system for transport management. This system has been designed using Rational Unified Process (RUP) methodology and object oriented design patterns and developed using PHP, CodeIgniter framework, MySQL database management system, Apache web server, HTML, cascading style sheets, JQuery and JavaScripts technologies. Once the system is implemented, evaluation has been done using several testing methods. Those are black box testing, white box testing, unit testing, integration testing and system testing. Further, user acceptance test was done with users who has involved to the requirement gather phase. The transport management system has been developed according to the client s requirements and to help in managing tours, customers, drivers, guides, and vehicle schedules to avoid overlap and other conflicts. At the termination, transport management system which full filled customer requirements were deployed in client s server.
