Abstract

Royal Dairy Lanka Pvt Ltd is a company which produces dairy products and distribute its production throughout the Southern and Western provinces of Sri Lanka. Currently all the management procedures are performed manually by the office and the factory staff of the company. Performing all the procedures manually consumes more time and man power which could be preoccupied to increase the production, are the main defects the management has. The procedures can be categorized into several main segments which are Employee Management, Stock Management, Vendor Management, Sales and Distribution Management, Customer Management (Farmer), Production Management, and Accounts Handling. The proposed computerized system (RDLMS) overcomes all the inconsistencies and the shortcomings of the prevailing manual system in order to enhance the productivity and the efficiency to increase the profit margins of the company. The proposed system is also developed under the main categories which was discovered in the manual system. So the proposed system is an integrated system which is developed using the modern techniques and technologies used in the industry in order to gain the utmost efficiency to the success and the well-being of the company. In order to satisfy the non-functional requirements; efficiency, accuracy and the security of the data, Object Oriented Programming Techniques and Model View Controller design pattern are used in developing RDLMS. The language used to develop the applications is Java and MySQL is used as the Database Management System. Since java is a platform-independent object oriented programming language the system, RDLMS can be implemented in any platform, Linux, Mac or Windows.
