Online Vehicle Rental System For Roomsnet(Pvt)Ltd.

Abstract

This project on OVRS was conducted to find whether the manual vehicle rental system of Roomsnet Company (pvt) can be developed to an online system or not. It was proved that manual vehicle rental system can be developed to a very successful and effective online rental system. The proposed system suggests a very easy way to rent vehicles via online when manual rental system causes many inconveniences. This system includes admin panel and reservation system which handles manual rental process of multiple companies via online. The project covers the areas like vehicle registration, monthly reservation reports, customer choice and payment methods etc. The functionalities of this project were to provide admin panel to registered companies, establish web base booking engine, make online payments, support multiple booking option to online customers and provide easy report facility to registered companies The alternative solution for the system is a web based system. And iterative and incremental methodologies were used to develop the system. And also OOP and MVC designing pattern were used to design the system architecture. In this web based OVRS system, the powerful server side scripting language PHP has been used along with the Apache web server and MySQL relational database management system. The system has been properly tested using a trustworthy testing procedure and it was a success. The feedbacks were taken from the colleagues in the company and they were really important to succeed the system into a great extent. Although the system benefits both the customer and the company there may be very few limitations also. The customer requirements can be vary from time to time and person to person. Therefore it will be difficult for the company to accomplish all the requirements. As the ideas change in company basis also it is difficult to implement all the ideas in the particular system. However when comparing with the manual rental system, this online system is more useful and effective.
