Title: Inquiry Management System For Ceylon Electricity Board

Abstract: Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) which owns the license of generating, transmitting, distribution and sale of electrical energy in majority the geography of Sri Lanka is governed with the help of several area offices all around the country. Regarding with the investigated data, CEB area office at Negombo which is performing its duty to make the optimal use of the resources through the application of pragmatic and time-tested managerial methods by controlling three substations in Katunayake, Negombo, & Minuwangoda suffers with huge load of manual functions such as disconnection management, meter testing, breakdown management, establishment of temporary connection, consumer registration, employee registration, vehicle details, transformer information, substation information management. generated with the relying file base system. The efficiency of CEB as the sole licensee for transmission and the power generation in the country depends on the corporate governance enhanced with the help of each area offices. Therefore the collaboration of area offices is fundamental. With this system it will automate the above functions such as Disconnection management, Meter testing, Breakdown management, Establishment of temporary connection, Consumer registration, Employee registration, Vehicle details, Transformer information, substation information management. In the proposed system there is a secure and easy access to the system. The employees are allowed to interact with a reliable and effective management system which facilitates gathering information to provide a quality and an effective service to the consumers. It will provide user-friendly and simple interface to the user. Report generation will be automated. It will increase the accuracy and privacy of inquiry management and decision support process. Proposed system was developed according to the object oriented techniques. Android Studio was used to implement the system, also Sqlite as the database, Java was used as the coding language under the Android platform.
