Order Management System for Mabroc Teas (Pvt) Ltd

Abstract

The story of Mabroc begins over two decades ago in 1988 when a group of tea enthusiasts, possessing a wealth of knowledge and experience in the tea industry founded the company with the well-defined objective of providing top-quality, authentic Ceylon teas that would exceed the expectations of tea connoisseurs around the world. In 2003 Mabroc joined hands with one of the premier Sri Lankan tea Plantation companies Kelani Valley Plantations and launched the program, "A Home for Every Plantation Worker". In 2006 Mabroc-Kelani Valley tea was recognized as the first Ethical Tea Brand of the world. In 2010 Mabroc became a fully-fledged member of the World of Hayleys; one of the oldest and largest conglomerates in Sri Lanka. Begun in 1878 by Charles P. Hayley in the southern coastal town of Galle, today the Hayleys Group has production facilities and marketing offices operating in most of the major cities in the world. Mabroc acts as the marketing arm of the two Plantation Companies of Hayleys - Kelani Valley Plantations PLC and Talawakelle Tea Esates PLC, which have over 19,000 hectares of tea land with an annual production of 15 million kilograms of supreme quality Ceylon tea. Mabroc Teas (Pvt) Ltd is a reputed company which is engaged in exporting tea. Presently, the company facing difficulties when communicate customer order status with customers. Customer handlers are struggling with couple of departments every day to collect information and send those to customer. But, Some time since communication delay these information are outdated when received by the customer. The requirement of an automated system is expected by the management of the company. Thus, this project will enable the company management to monitor marketing staff performance centrally on time and create budget and actual reports in a standard manner. Microsoft Visio and Project are used as diagramming technique which is used in requirement gathering & designing stages. WAMP server, Adobe Dreamweaver is used as development tools. MYSQL is used as Database Management System and Programming Technology is PHP. These tools help to success of the final system. On 2014 August Mabroc started to use live order management system for Japan customers. After 6 month they are expanding system for all customers.
