MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR SUVEL HEALTHCARE SERVICES

Abstract

Sri Lanka is currently undergoing rapid changes in both information technology field and Health care services industry. As a part of this both revolutionary way forward, now it is connected to achieve much more benefits, rather than moving alone. By now Information technology has become a common factor in almost all private hospitals, Dispensaries and many more medical institutes. With the growth of this industry, people are also enjoying these benefits in their day to day operations like meeting doctors and getting treatment etc. Suvel Health care services started in the year 2013 as a new medical institute but it was started as a little dispensary few years back. Currently Suvel is the provider of medical treatments including channelling, nebulisations, x rays, scanner services, vaccination and lab test facilities. With these operations going to happen daily, it required some sort of smooth processes to be established inside the premises in order to maintain standards and quality in the institute. Having a management system was the ideal solution to get this advantage. Author was directed to this institute as a result of the search for the client for the BIT project. The scope was much more suitable complete within the given time frame by UCSC. This system was designed with java standard edition attached with My SQL Database management system. It has been designed with object oriented programming concepts combined with Model view control architecture. Jasper reports have been used for creating reports. This dissertation was created with all the system phases including designing, implementation are shown in different chapters.
