Bookshop Management System For Lakmith Bookshop

Abstract

Lakmith Bookshop which is situated in the city of Ragama, is a recently established Bookshop. On one hand since the Bookshop is new to the industry the management badly needed a website to popularize their shopl and on the other hand they did not have a clear idea about how to manage their daily tasks in a systematic manner and how an automated system would help them in making their tasks easier than before, They have been using a manual system until recent with no proper way of generating timely reports and statistics. This web based system is built as a solution to overcome the above mentioned problems faced by the current manual system. It covers, Online Books purchase, Staff Details Management, Inventory Management and Report Generation. The system uses Object Oriented Techniques. Active Server Pages (ASP.NET) which is a server-side scripting language was used to build the system and Internet Information Service (IIS) has been used as the web server. Unified Modeling Language (UML) was used for Analysis and Design. MSSQL was used to handle databases. It can be used in any browser under the Windows platforms. This web based Inventory Management System has been designed to accomplish the user requirements of lakmith Bookshop. It will help the administration to work efficiently on their tasks and monitor the progress of the shop which will gradually maximize the profit.
