Abstract: PREMIER CLOTHING (PVT) LTD is a very busy garment factory located in Kurunegala district. It is one of the factory, which manufactures garments for the foreign society. The factory has a great history with a bright name in the field as manufacturing high quality garments. PREMIER CLOTHING is a sub garment containing 7 machine lines. At the time there may 200 workers were working in the PREMIER CLOTHING, and manufacturing garments for 6 -7 order placements per day. Here the main factory deals with buyers and collect orders. And then assign orders to their sub factories. Premier Clothing manufactures garments and delivers them to relevant buyers through main factory. But still, the garment factory is using manual system to do all the jobs related with the order. Because of that, the administration of the factory is facing big troubles, like data redundancy, data inconsistency and delay in decision making due to unavailability of necessary reports and information when necessary. The web based Garment Management System (GMS) is introduced to overcome some problems faced by the administration and inefficiency of the current manual system. The proposed system is developed to cover the overall process of the garment factory, such as Planning, Store control, Production management, Quality management, Human resource management and Report generation. Further, the best thing of the system is, by developing web based management system it s become possible to monitor factory processes, in any location. When developing the system, Unified Modeling Language (UML) was used for analysis and designing. And also, WAMP was selected as the development environment for the system and MySQL as the database environment. The web based Garment Management System has been designed to fulfill the user and system requirements. The system would assist the management to monitor and manage the processes. It could also help the administration to work efficiently and enable profit maximization through this newly introduced web based system.
