Abstract: Recognizing the potential and the demand for total logistic solutions in a dynamic business environment, Dhamna Solutions was established in 2001 having the primary objective in venturing into logistics to offer time efficient and cost effective solutions to local organizations. Present work force 60. While expanding their business over these years, mostly they have drawn their concern on increasing total no. of vehicles (Trailers & Prime movers), increase the work force and upgrading vehicles. Management has had a less understanding about the outcomes of continuing manual documentation and managerial processes. Logistics Transport System for Dhamna Solutions is developed based on the business strategy of the Ace Containers (Pvt) Ltd. in order to improve performance and productivity. This is a web based application and it is capable of handling information related to all areas of transport operations. The system has adapted Object Oriented techniques such as JAVA Enterprise edition. Further it has been used Adempiere application dictionary as a framework which contains of ZK Ajax for Rich HTML User Interface and Beanshell, Python and Groovy Callout Scripting. Unified Modeling Language (UML) has been used for system analysis and design stages. PostgreSQL is used to handle Database. Since this is a web based system deployed in Jboss Application server this can be utilized either in Windows or Linux environment. The web based Logistics Transport Management System is designed and developed to fulfill entire user requirement and to replace the existing current manual system. Resource management, Quotation maintenance, Rate & Profile maintenance, Order operation handling and Customer invoicing are the main areas covered through the system. Admin module will be used to grant/revoke privileges of users on system functions. Reports useful for the management level users and operational users can be generated as and when required. User logs and update logs will be captured and saved in order to manage system security. The application will be beneficial for people from top management to people who record day-to-day operations. Further it will increase efficiency and productivity of the current processes.
