Student And Institute Information Management System for e -Academy Computer Education Centre

Abstract

e - Academy Computer Education Centre is an educational institute that offers various kinds of modern technology based courses. Its course content varies from computer aided drafting to advance robotic system development. So this is one of few institutes which gives that kind of vast knowledge to people and students who are willing to have in Sri Lanka. With that plus point, e - Academy has able to expand their student base dramatically within past couple of months. But at the same time, with this improvement the institute got a heavy work load to manage their information regarding the students and institute itself. Since the establishment, the institute uses a very traditional way to store and manage all of their information. It is a manual files and paper based management methodology. because of this, now the management is facing some problems regarding the effectiveness of the institute. Student and Institute Information Management System is developed to overcome those managerial problems regarding their student and institute information. This system will help them to decrease the inefficiency of e - Academy. This system will cover almost all information management in the institute. This will cover such as student registration, barcode student attendance mark, view payment details, view student details though internet and generate various reports. Since this is not just a Standalone system but also a Web Based system, Student and Institute Information Management System enhances the benefits to students of e - Academy. Student and Institute Information Management System is developed in NetBeans IDE and used JAVA and PHP as the main programming languages. iReport is used as report and barcode generation for the system. Apache and MySQL is used to manage the database. The System is created with Object Oriented techniques. Students can access to the system whatever their operating system since it is made with PHP and base is the web. So this system will assist the e - Academy to increase their effectiveness and efficiency. With the help of the new system the institute will gain competitive advantage also.
