Inventory, Sales and Job Management System for Estella Group of Companies (Pvt) Ltd

Abstract

Estella Group of Companies is an IT industry, situated in Bambalapitiya. The company accepts repairs and sales. These are being handled by a manual file system, which records all details in individual log books. This has caused data redundancy and inconsistency. Due to the expansion of the business, increasing competition and the need for additional facilities, Estella Group of Companies has decided to move into an efficient and effective computerized system which will provide speedy and timely services. The proposed system for Estella Group of companies consists of a main interface that will manage different user roles and include functionalities to support a smooth and effective sales, repairs and inventory management process. The system consists of data storing and data analysis of the details of customers, suppliers, employees and products, which enables inventory management, order handling, repair job handling and payment handling. The system will generate reports and provide effective communication between the system users. The inventory, sales and job management system of Estella Group of Companies is a stand-alone system implemented according to the modern waterfall model. The system is developed using Microsoft visual studio 2010 with entity framework and SQL server 2012 as the database server. The language used for development is C# language, which is an object oriented language, with .Net framework along with Language integrated query language (LINQ). The developed system has been properly tested using a comprehensive testing procedure that ensures a high-quality computerized system and has become an aid to face the competition and future forecasting about the business.
