Abstract

Swisstek (Ceylon) PLC, formerly known as Parquet (Ceylon) PLC was established in 1967 and is a member of Lanka Wall tiles Group of Companies since 2003. The Company s main line of business shifted from the manufacture and sale of flooring under the SWISSPARKETT brand name to the manufacture and sale of Tile Grout and Tile Mortar. The Company also manufactures Decorative Pebbles and continues supply Tile Grout and Tile Mortar flooring for the local market. All products are manufactured to the highest quality standards and are distributed under a new brand name SWISSTEK . Computer base Inventory management system helps to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of it without introducing any additional complexity to, the system user. This system which the manage stock and sales. A system was developed to standalone environment. This system also helps to manage their day-to-day transaction, stock details, product details, employee details etc.. User login system have been stabilise in this inventory management system. There for unauthorized user can t be access for inventory details. This new computer based system manages daily transactions by an automated process and provide high security when data access. This system will provide a variety of reports to top level managements to help get their decisions easier. They can get day end reports, stock details reports, employee reports, etc... The Stock and Sales Management System for Swiss parkett Lanka (pvt) Ltd is just another example where the existing system has computerized to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of it without introducing any additional complexity to the end user. Project have been employed Object Oriented Techniques all over this project and Unified Modelling Language used in analysis and design stage. Language with the help of SQL Server Management Studio Express in the windows environment. [iv] At the end, the system implemented successfully and it was installed in client computer and also this standalone system achieved client requirements successfully.
