Gampola CIB Shopping Center is one of the largest shopping centers in gampola town. The Wijaya Group (PVT) Ltd who manages these centers, including four centers in Wijaya Sari Mandiraya has a network of 30 CIB Shopping centers Island wide. They play an important role of producing readymade garments and house hold items under one roof to their customers. Although they play an important role in their field, the lack of an Ecommerce system has become crucial to be on level with their competitors. The management of the center requested an Ecommerce web site to gain more profit and attract more customers to their business. The following system is developed for the Gampola CIB Shopping Center for their requirements. The primary goal of this system is to develop an Ecommerce shopping cart system to interact with the customers and sell goods online. The system interacts with a payment gateway (PayPal) to provide the customer an infrastructure to make payments online. It also provides a back end administrative area to allow administrator to do administrative functions. These function areas include Inventory management, managing user details, managing expenses and revenues, generating reports etc. The system was designed using Object Oriented Methodologies. UML (Unified Modeling Language) was used for analysis and design, PHP is used as a server side scripting language, Apache is used as the web server and MySQL plays the role of DBMS. The system will handle most of the marketing part expected by the management. It will cut off most of the marketing cost of the center. The system is expected to be a valuable asset to the center.en_US
