Abstract: Tourism industry is a major industry in Sri Lankan economy. Year by year lack of tourists from many countries are used this remarkable country to spend their vacation. When we compare with technology which other countries are using Sri Lanka has to achieve many objectives and goals. Most of the European and American countries have used information technology to increase their efficiency in tourism industry. In Sri Lankan tourism industry manual systems are used by the most of the hotels to complete their day today processes. Hotel Araliya was started in 2012. It is located in Naiwala junction which closes to the Nittambuwa-Katunayaka main road. But still Hotel Araliya is using a manual system to handle day today hotel processes including Room reservation process (check in, check out), Restaurant process, Laundry process, Ironing process, Banquet hall reservation process etc. This proposed system is a front desk management system. It will be managed Room reservations, Banquet hall reservations, Meal reservations processes and various processes in a systematic way. Therefore this will be helped to reduce time consuming, increase the efficiency of the hotel and maintain an efficient database of customer?s information. System will be generated proper reports. These reports will be helped to management to get future decisions to improve the business qualities and services. And also efficiency of hotel will be improved by integrating various hotel operations with project management principles. The project will be implemented by using PHP in procedural way along with the Apache HTTP server and MySQL. Coding is done through Netbeans IDE and Google charts were added for reporting and charting facility. Front-end developments are done by using Twitter Bootstrap framework. In addition, StarUML has used to draw some UML diagrams and SmartDraw has used to draw various diagrams shown in this dissertation.
