Abstract: Liberty Vortex Power Ltd is a provider of power protection product and service solutions including Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS). As a recently opened organization, owner pointed out the potential difficulties of maintaining a manual system for the business processes and operations. According to these circumstances, the organization needs to operate in the efficient manner which will enrich itself with sound keeping records in business premises, customer relationship, improved efficiency and accurately maintained schedule with an automated system. UPS Management information system is proposed software system that interacts with the business extensibility and cost effectively. The system is a tailored to Liberty Vortex Power Ltd and that fulfills the identified eighteen functional requirements with three non functional requirements in the business premises. The proposed system is based on centralized database with client server architecture. The centralized relational database keeps all records as back end and client application program which accesses the centralized database for managing data according to the user requirement in front end. It s used open source solutions to develop a system that will operate under Linux and windows operating systems, platform independently. Open source mysql is database server that manages centralized data and client application is written by java language. Development process also used open source computer aided software engineering tools like netbeans integrated development environment for coding, mysql workbench for database designing, modelio for unified modelling language diagrams and gantt project which guides the scheduling of the system life cycle. Object oriented methodology and open source CASE tools and libraries are provided essential background to the project success. Proper evaluation procedure confirms differences between the expected behavior specified by system models and the observed behavior of the implemented system. Declare UPS Management information system is completed functional requirements and non functional requirements successfully within scope and schedule.
