MANAGEMENT INFORMATIONSYSTEM FOR RICH COLOUR EXPORT (PVT) LTD.

Abstract

Rich Colour Export (PVT) Ltd (RC) is a pioneer in the export screen printing and embellishments for apparel manufacturing industry which is fully owned subsidiary of Hirdramani Group of company and RC joins venture partner. It has a factory in Maharagama and the head office in Kidelpitiya. Rich Colour Export (PVT) Ltd provides apparel prints for local market as well as foreign market. They are the only an Eco friendly apparel printing company in Sri Lanka. As a result of rapid growth of their orders, they are unable to manage core business activities. This web based system is built as a solution to overcome the above mentioned problems faced by the current manual system. It covers several functions such as order processing, finding color recipes, account handling, stock management, consumption for sampling, making good customer relationship, report generating, quality management, input output handling etc. Model View Controller (MVC) architecture and Object Oriented techniques have been used in this system. In order to do analysis and designing, Unified Modeling Language (UML) has been used and Hypertext Pre-processor (PHP) has been used for server-side scripting language. Apache has been used as the web server and MySQL was used for handling databases. Since this is a web based system, it could be operated in Windows environment. This project has been undertaken to develop a management information system to an apparel printing plant to improve their efficiency and complete their jobs without any delay. As a result of that this will gradually maximize the profit.
