WEB BASED SALES AND INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR WIJENDRA JEWELLERS

Abstract

Wijendra Jewellers is a jewellery shop situated in Dehiwala area. Like a craftsman crafting a master piece out of a gold mine, Wijendra Jewellers elevate the business to the next level, day by day. Today Wijendra Jewellers has taken the business forward and rebranded the company with its industrial experience evolving into a premium brand among jewellery companies. Since the jewellery shop is new to the industry, the management badly needed a website to popularize their jewellery in the market. During their jewellery manufacturing & selling process, they heavily depend on handwriting & paper works. This manual obsolete system causes numerous problems. So an automated system would help them in making their tasks easier than before. This web based system is built as a solution to overcome the above mentioned problems faced by the current manual system. It covers Inventory Management, Sales Management, Order Management, Customer Management and Report Generation. The system uses Object Oriented Techniques. Hypertext Pre-Processor (PHP) which is a server-side scripting language was used to build the system and Apache has been used as the web server. Unified Modelling Language (UML) was used for Analysis and Design. MySQL was used to handle databases. It can be used in any browser under the Windows or Linux platforms. This web based Sales and Inventory Management System was successfully implemented, evaluated conducted a user survey and positively accepted by the users and fully functional, satisfies and fulfils the requirements of Wijendra Jewellers. It will help the administration to work efficiently on their tasks and monitor the progress of the jewellery shop which will gradually maximize the profit.
