dc.description.abstractThe Inventory Management of the Built Mech Services (Pvt) Ltd has run on a manual system since its beginning. As they are doing air conditioning contracting, time should be reduced and efficiency of the work should be increased.The stock handling, purchase order processing and other main processes in stock management are done by manually. It has caused data redundancy and inconsistency. The top management has faced problems while making decisions because of this system. The wastage of the products due to the inconsistent data is one of the major problems faced. Due to the expansion of the business, the increasing competition and the need of additional facilities Built Mech Services management have decided to shift into an efficient and effective computerized system which will provide speed and timely services. The proposed system had to include main functionalities of an inventory management system such as purchase order management, handling items transfer from sites to sites, manage return and depreciated items, inventory management, handling requisitions, user management and system details management. Also the system had to assist payment process and a report generation facility. This system fulfills all the functionalities of the manual system, and it is given to the users to do their work easily and efficiently. The developed inventory management system of Built Mech Services (Pvt) Ltd is a standalone system implemented according to the modern waterfall model. The project had been developed with Visual Studio 2010 as the IDE and by using Entity Framework Architecture technology. Microsoft SQL Server 2012 was used to create the database. The languages used for the implementation of the system are C# language with .NET framework along with Language Integrated Query Language (LINQ). The developed system enables inventory management, purchases handling, data analysis, report generation and provide effective communication between the system users. The difficulties faced by the client have been successfully addressed by the Built Mech Services Inventory Management (BMSIM) system.en_US
