Title: WEB BASED INVENTORY CONTROL SYSTEM FOR TRUE VALUE PRODUCTS

Abstract: True Value Product (Pvt) Ltd is a company located at Mount Lavinia, which distributes floor tiles, wall tiles and sanitary ware. It is a fast growing company. True Value Products has the head office at Mount Lavinia. In addition, there are two branches, One at Nawala and the other at Kurunegala. As for the reason that it is a product based business and a volume of products are being handled, a method of recording the inventory details is an important factor. Since it is a fast growing company the manual system used to record inventory details are not time efficient, since it will need a loads of paper work. This web based Inventory control system is developed for True Value Products (Pvt) Ltd to overcome the disadvantages of the existing manual system such as loss of details, loss of stock, etc... This system includes Stock management, Purchasing and Purchase order tracking, POS and Report generation etc. In the analysing and design phases of this system development Unified Modelling Language were used. Diagram such as Use-case, Class, Activity, etc were used in order to explain the system in detail. Even though the system is developed in structured, Class diagram is drawn for the purpose of understanding the system. In order to develop the system, Windows OS, Dreamweaver was used to implement HTML, CSS, PHP (a server-side scripting language), JavaScript, JQuery, Photoshop, Flash, Apache server (as web server) and MySQL database were used. This dissertation report consists of all the work carried out in each and every phases of the system.
