Design & Implementation of Web based open source ERP for TRW

Abstract

The purpose of this document is to provide a comprehensive evaluation of an enhanced version of an Open source Enterprise Resource Planning system with the available alternatives currently in the market for manufacturing industry. The TRW Lanka (Pvt) Limited, a US based steel wheels- rims manufacturing company has been selected to implement the enhanced version open source ERP system. The standalone legacy systems which were in place have completely been replaced by the new open source ERP system which has significantly increased the transparency of processes to middle and senior management of the company as a result of integrity between the modules. The business case and its justification, product scope, the approach, the technologies, the deliverables and the product evaluation (solution assessment and validation) are discussed in this document.
