There are plenty of research carried out on Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown aetiology and related areas in Sri Lanka. However, lack of a mass community media to make awareness among the public including researchers and other relevant people regarding CKDu appears to be an obstacle to fight this disease. The facility of an online community creates the chance to collect & distribute information about CKDu efficiently which could pave the way to address this issue by the relevant authorities. A web based information system was implemented using C#.Net in order to address the problem state above. The main objective of implementing such a system is, to provide facilities like distance helpdesk, research data collection and automated SMS / Email notifications on related information about CKDu. Furthermore it creates a gateway for all interested groups to carry out comprehensive analysis of data. It will also facilitate the access to such required information more efficiently and effectively, while saving time, money and efforts. The evaluation of this system revealed this system make easier work of researchers and it will become the distance helpdesk to affected parties. This system could be enhance by implementing mobile application for data collection, provide online clinic facility & consultation facility via website.
