Abstract: ICT (Information and Communications Technology) is a key input to productivity and growth performance in the business sector. It has made good progress in modernizing many of the businesses and has started to successfully address structural problems including low levels of human capital and customer satisfaction. ICT is used more and more in decision making in businesses. It allows staff to gather large quantities of information extremely quickly from a wide variety of sources. It has also helped in the presentation and processing of this information, we are now able to easily present statistics to our peers that we, ourselves may have processed and gathered. Information also allows for instant worldwide communication. The use of ICT brings about a general reduction in errors and wastage of a company’s resources. Hotels provide accommodation, foods, beverages and other services to their guest. Guests always want quick, accurate and productive services. Guests are looking for the value for money they spent at a hotel. Owinka Lake Resort is a small and medium scale resort located in Wadduwa, Sri Lanka. They also provide above mention services to both local and foreign guest. Now, the hotel operation is done using manual system. Computerize software solution have magnitude advantages over a manual system. This project is to build up a computerize hotel management system for the Owinka Lake Resort. This thesis descries the current scenario of the hotel and the analysis of current system and identifies drawbacks and design solutions to overcome them. This new system is going to cover the areas of Reservations, Restaurant Management, Stores and Inventory Controlling. In the reservation module will capable of handling all the room and function reservation from adding till the check-out of a reservation. Service ordering module is capable of handling all the food, beverage and other services provide to the guests. Stores Module is capable of handling all the current processors of stores. The incremental development is used with the use of Prototyping technique as the development methodology. This system will be completed with two main increments. This system is design and implemented using the Object Oriented approach.
