Title: Supply Chain Management System for Sugathadasa Bandara & Sons

Abstract: Sugathadasa Bandara & Sons has been in the industry of plaques, medal and trophies industry over 75 years. Over the journey they have had their ups and downs and have evolved over the time. This work starts with trying to understanding their current situation in the context of the industry. Analysis of the company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and weaknesses yield that the company needs to improve its information system on its in-house operations and supply chain in order to overcome its weaknesses to fully utilize the strengths to exploit new opportunities arising in the marketplace while defeating threats. The solution is the development of a supply chain management system which streamline its processes and provides access to information of status of customer orders, status of inventory levels, procurement information, and work order information. Explanation on the current way of working in its day to day activities are provided and the difficulties of the current method is explained which justifies the development of a supply chain management system for the company. The design details of the product are explained using an entity relation diagram and the entity relation diagram is used to derive database relations. This development has tried to adhere to the agile scrum development methodology. The requirements are explained in the form of user stories and user stories are developed within iterations. In each iteration, a demonstration of the functionality was done with a customer representative of the company and receives feedbacks for the developed functionality after each demonstration. Then the product is adapted based on the feedback. This way of working made sure that there is no big gap between the customer expectation and the product when the product is finalized. Apache server, Mysql database and php language is used as a general purpose scripting language. HTML and CSS has been use to implement the user interfaces. The functionalities provided cover customer order processing, creating work orders for customer orders and processing them, material reservation, replenishment of inventory, handling procurement and generating useful reports. Unit testing were done per each user story. Integrated testing was done after developing several user stories which are together make a complete business flow. A system test was done after ring developing all the areas. The bugs found were corrected immediately. In conclusion, this project has been successfully implemented with good collaboration with the customer which helped to have a happy user of the product. Using of php and Mysql made it possible to be flexible making sure that product can adapt based on customer feedback while leaving a room for future developments.
