Public Health Information System for Southern Province

Abstract

Department of Health Services in Southern Province is the only responsible authority for public health issues occur in the southern province. The current system of managing public health data is manual. It is very time consuming, hard to manage as well as highly error prone. To overcome these problems there exist a need of an efficient system, which could easily manage public health data especially in occasions such as managing some disease through the instant collection of patient data from corresponding administrative bodies during a period of spreading a disease. Dissertation met these project aims through an extensive study of relevant literature and the implementation of several solutions. System requirements are identified by conducting semi structured interviews with health workers and reading related documentation. User management, Login management, Institute management, Demography management, GIS management, Health Form management, Report management, Multi language management, Dashboard management, Family management, Privilege management, Message Management, Theme management and Disease management are key productions of this thesis. The major features include in the system are dynamically manageable health forms and the GIS module. Because of the dynamically manageable health forms system can use for feeding any kind of public health related activities. The project is more than the application of technology to improve the health care delivery. Here the system development was based on rapid application development methodology. As per the conclusion, it provides hard evidence that the solution implemented is an ideal tool for manage public health information .Because of the efficiency and effectiveness of the system people could be protected by spreading diseases and health workers can improve good health within group of people so that will help people to live long life.
