Abstract: This project focuses on The General Trusts Company (Pvt) Limited (TGTCL) located in Yakkala. The main aim of this Project is giving them an appropriate web based solution to function smoothly. The solution is named Web Based Micro Finance System (WBMFS). The General Trusts Company (Pvt) Limited is a small entrepreneurship with a few staff in a single branch location. This project has taken a dynamic step towards computerizing their operation cycle from manual System. Web Based Micro Finance System (WBMFS) is mainly uses to record their day to day business transactions and extract reports to the management. WBMFS captures customer information, maintains record of Micro Finance & payment details, interest computation of daily accruals, reminder letter generation. Based on the above information, WBMFS produces operational and MIS reports. Main objective of implementing the WBMFS is to improve the efficiency of the Micro Finance operation by eliminating manual intervention, improve the quality of work, standards and provide effective information to related parties. WBMFS has been developed using open source technologies in the MCV environment. PHP is light weighted and more secured server side language used to develop whole System pages. MySql, one of the famous open source database is used as the database management System. Graphical charts such as bar charts, pie charts etc. developed by Google graphs is one of the Ajax and JQuery technologies introduced by Google developers. Questionnaires were used to evaluate the System acceptance and test scenarios were created to evaluate the functionality of the System. WBMFS project achieved all the proposed functional and non-functional requirements as well as some additional features. WBMFS will be improved by enhancing the functionality and security of the System.
