Title: Inventory Management System and Analyser for Book Shop

Abstract: Various small and medium book shops in Sri Lanka handles the inventory manually. This consumes a lot of valuable time which can be used to improve the quality of the business. Even though some book stores use small systems they lack of a integrated system with all the functionalities. The above mentioned problem leads the author to design a computerized system to help the current manual process. This will make the functions of a book store more flexible and effective. The main objective of this project is to develop a cost-effective, user friendly solution to easily manage a book store as well as develop and coordinate the business in a more effective manner by analyzing the sales and the demand. In this project an inventory control system will be developed for book stores with the ability to generate various reports that will help the management of the book store on decision making. This system will also provide an online checking of available books and pre-ordering for customers. Proposed system was analyzed and designed using use case diagrams, Database diagrams and class diagrams and will be implemented by using C#.NET, Crystal reports and selected Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express edition as the database. This comprehensive project report provides the details of the activities of the project.
