WEB BASED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR KUMASARU AUTOMOBILE SERVICE

Abstract

The Kumasaru Automobile Service is one of the middle level motor garages in Narahenpita. Since 1980, they have won a better place among other garages in the capital city. They are providing their service to both individual and corporate customers. Already, the Kumasaru Automobile Service has no system in managing their work; and doing it manually. The major problems that they had been faced were store customer and vehicle information, making estimates and invoices, making job sheet and compare the profitability for each job and get reports. In this situation the proprietor of the entity had identified the need of a proper management system to overcome above difficulties. The web based management system is built to eliminate the difficulties of current manual system. This solution covers overall of the requirements of proprietor such as, easy manipulation of the customer and information of vehicle, generate estimates, job sheets, invoices and other reports. Furthermore, the proprietor expects to enhance customer satisfaction about their services by this system. The proposed solution will be a web based application and will be hosted remote server. The system will be developed with the Object Oriented Programming (OOP) concept and the requirement analysis and design aspect of the system will take the advantage of the Unified Modeling Language (UML). The system will be developed using General Public License (GPL) software such as PHP, J-Query libraries and XAMPP server. The web based management system has been designed to fulfill the user and system requirements. The system would assist the proprietor of the entity and it could also help to enhance their efficiency and customer satisfaction.
