Title: WEB BASED HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR CYBERGATE SERVICES
Authors: Dias, P.P.U.
Issue Date: 22-Jul-2014
Abstract: Cybergate Services is a privately owned printing business which offers many services such as type setting, graphic designing, book binding, duplo and offset printing as well as many other services. It is a growing business and is looking to expand its premises with the printing press and offices already in two separate locations. A budding company such as this is bound to have a substantial amount of employees in which case proper human resource management becomes an essential part of day to day business. This is where the Web Based Human Resource Management system comes in. The company currently has a manual HR system which frankly, is not up to the standards that it should be. Therefore it was decided to implement a software application which could handle daily concerns regarding employees as well as afford management staff the opportunity to make decisions based on properly gathered, accurate information -which would be maintained by the proposed system- thus ultimately leading to better business judgments. This particular system was constructed according to Rational Unified Process (RUP) framework and incorporates the object oriented concepts of software engineering. It is a web based system that has been developed using JSP technology, MySQL database and the Apache web server. In addition, Model View Controller (MVC) architecture and Hibernate framework have been integrated into the construction of the project. The coding of the project was carried out using the NetBeans IDE and iReport software was used for report generation. The system has been designed with one goal in mind: that is to assist in the human resource management of the client s company. To this end the system has been thoroughly tested and implemented at the client site.
