Issue Date: 22-Jul-2014
Abstract: EvenseL-IT is a recently established IT company, which provides various IT solutions varying in numerous categories such as software development, web development, mobile application development, network/server configuration, network cabling and many other services for their clients. The company was only started in the beginning of the year 2012, with few software engineers coming together and now has more than 30 employees working for EvenseL-IT. Mr. Rushan Samarakoon is the founder of the EvenseL-IT and also the managing director who guides the company. At the beginning, since there were only few software developers working in EvenseL-IT, there was no urgent need for a human resource management system. The management of EvenseL-IT was quite happy to handle those management processes manually. But as the company started to succeed, number of employees increased and the management of the company identified the need for a human resource management system to perform their operations efficiently. The human resource management system implemented for EvenseL-IT is a web based system which includes employee details management, leave management, performance appraisal, training management, pay slip generation and staff allocation. For analyzing and designing of the system, object oriented techniques were used and for the development preconfigured XAMPP server consisting PHP server side scripting language, MYSQL database management system and Apache web server were used. As the architecture for the system MVC model was chosen and followed throughout the development of the system. After on successful implementation of the HRM system, it was handed to the management of EvenseL-IT Company. The developed system is capable of taking over most of the manual management processes and is likely to reduce the paper work and the effort needed previously. This will enable the management of the company to focus more on their core business processes rather than having to spend more time dealing with support processes.
