Title: Cab Services Management System for Senura Cabs Company

Abstract:  Senura Cabs Company is a cab services supplying company which is situated in Athurugiriya and it was established in November of 2011. Currently there are about twenty five cabs in the company and they are supplying their service in areas around the Colombo district. Like most of other cab services supplying companies in Sri Lanka, this company is in the primitive stage in the technological perspective and there was not a proper mechanism to handle their business activities. Since the establishment of the company, all the information maintenance activities have manually done. When considering about their business processes, we can see that the information technology can make a huge impact to do their business activities more effective and efficient manner. The proposed system will facilitate for almost all business processes happening within the company and will help to maintain information integrity and up to date information. Functionalities in the proposed system such as tracking nearest cab to the customer place will help to improve the quality of services supplying by the company. Report generating functionality will help to find new business opportunities and decision making activities in order to achieve organizational goals. This is a web application which adapted the MVC architecture with object oriented environment. The system is being developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 as the IDE and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 as the database server. All server side scripting is written in C#.net, aspx. Backend controllers, classes and model classes are written in C#.net and javascript and jquery were used to write client side scripts in .NET Framework. In addition to that Star UML is being used to draw UML diagrams.
