Title: Stock Controlling and Sales System for Amaco Traders

Abstract: The client, Amaco Traders is presently engaged in selling spare parts for agricultural machinery in Sri Lanka. The company performs various business activities related to stock controlling and sales. Most of them are time consuming and need a lot of man power in the current manual system. They face lot of difficulties in managing stock and sales with growth of their business. Management of the company seeks a way to ease the stock controlling process and provide better service to their customers. Since there is a lack of an efficient system the author has gained an opportunity to build up a Stock Controlling and Sales System which will be helpful in their operational work. The scope of this project is to implement windows based Stock Controlling and Sales System which provides facilities to manage spare part details, manage purchase orders, manage customer orders, maintain inventory and handle customer payments. RUP was selected as the methodological approach for developing the system and Object Oriented Design was used as design methodology. Microsoft Visio was used to draw the UML diagrams shown in the dissertation. This system was implemented with the use of Visual Studio 2008 as the IDE and SQL server 2005 as the database server. Coding was done using C# programming language. The system which has been developed had met the client requirements by helping to manage stock and sales effectively while upholding the standard of their business.
