Title: WEB BASED CLINIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR VENUS CLINIC AND LABORATORY

Abstract: Nowadays Most of the Organizations and Business Trades are relying on the platform of Information and communication technology (ICT) to simplify and optimize their business transaction in every aspect in order to make their business more productive. The ICT evolution is having dramatic effects in practices within the Healthcare and pharmaceutical industry and on the delivery of Patient Oriented Clinical services. Clinics and Dispensaries are vital for a community s wellbeing. Venus Clinic is one of the Indispensable Medical Services point where located in Panadura region. With the increase in the number of patients visiting, apparently it has become difficult to manage all the Venus Clinic s services. To overcome such inefficiencies, Venus Clinic s top management has decided to implement a computerized system for ease the day to day activities of all the intended parties of the Clinic. By using Venus Clinic Management System (VCMS) Doctors, Lab Assistants, Nursing Staff and Pharmacists can do their work efficiently and effectively. VCMS was developed including five integrated Modules such as Dispensary, Patient Records, Laboratory, Pharmacy and Clinic Services Management. Also it contains features such as Patient Registration and Summarized Report, Creating own prescription, Lab Test Report Tracking, Handling Pharmacy Sales, Clinic Services Management, Search functionality, Bills and Reports generation and so on. VCMS has developed using Object Oriented techniques and UML was used to Design and Analysis of the System. ASP .NET used as the front end and C# .NET programming languages respectively. IIS web server as the local web server and SQL Server 2008 was used to handle databases. Since VCMS is Web Based Management System it has the ability to operate in Windows or Linux Environment as well. This System has automated many ongoing manual services within the Venus Clinic and Laboratory also made all the users to work with VCMS interactively and efficiently. It has been concluded that Venus Clinic Management System has met the intended purpose of the implementation of the system.
