Issue Date: 22-Jul-2014
Abstract: The objective of doing this project is to develop a software solution for the stock and sales management in the Thilina Pharmacy. The Thilina Pharmacy currently doesn t have any computerize system to handle their day-to-day transactions. They do their all processes in manual file based system. Consequently management faced problems like inaccuracy, delay of transactions, unavailability of stock details and etc. The solution collects all data and that data will be used for creating day end reports. As a solution the system will generate operational and managerial reports, digitally printed bills for transactions and also facilitate different-level of users with customized functionalities. The system which manages stock and sales creates a centralized control. Not only that, this solution supports for transactions, employees, customers and suppliers too. This proposed system keeps an error free environment inside Thilina Pharmacy. It also shows how Information Technology can be used to simplify daily tasks with more efficiently and effectively, within a shorter time, with minimizing failures while increasing the considerable profit level. The development methodology that was practiced here was Rapid Application Development (RAD).Because of RAD concept products could be developed faster and achieved higher quality. As this project followed RAD, an agreement was signed with the client to reduce the scope by dividing the system into versions. Object Oriented Approach was used to design and development of the system which included planning, risks analysis, designing, implementing, evaluating. Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 was used to implement the system in C# .NET language with the help of SQL Server Management Studio Express in the windows environment. At the end, the system implemented successfully and it was installed in client computer and also this standalone system achieved client requirements successfully. Final result of this project, a standalone Stock and Sales Management System has been design to fulfill the user and system requirements.
