BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR DUMINDA HARDWARE

Abstract

It is necessary to have good business management process for any enterprise to achieve the targets and growing with the success. Duminda Hardware (DHW) is well known medium size hardware store in the area growing year by year with the new customer base. They achieved the targets by providing the quality service and reasonable business process. DHW did not have computerized system for business process and it was seen that lot of manual and paper works. It was difficult to maintain proper inventories in most of the time. Customer service issues were occurred due to the required product not available at the right time. Developed system prevented the earlier drawbacks and provided quality and efficient management process with effective decision making facility. System was developed with the Java programming language with fully OOP technologies. MySQL was used as the database management system with the Hibernate ORM tool. Open source UML tools used to generate the diagrams during SDLC process. Netbeans and Eclipse IDEs were used to build the GUI and Java classes. Reports were generated with Jasper report tools. DHW system achieved all the functional and non functional requirements with the client satisfaction. Generated reports were provided effective decision making facility. User friendliness, reliability, efficiency and management reports are the key success factors in the system.
