Abstract: Olu Advertising (Pvt) Ltd is an advertising firm which provides all kind of indoor and outdoor advertising and printing services ranging from digital printing, offset printing, screen printing and news paper advertising. At Olu Advertising, all the document management tasks related to the business are carried out manually from year 2003 since its establishment. The manual process is inefficient and more erroneous due to high time consumption and the need of recording the same transaction in several documents. The solution for this scenario was to develop a computerized system that can handle all day to day work effectively and efficiently. The system was developed only to handle sales process at the moment in order to shrink the scope to fit with the time frame provided. But actual system is comprised with a purchasing process as well. This purchasing process is need to be implemented later as a separate system or existing system should be extended to incorporate the purchasing process in future. Developed system is capable of facilitating the organization in all the ways from start to the end of its sales life cycle by automating the tasks such as issuing quotations, planning printing jobs by handling job tickets, calculating the cost of printing jobs, issuing invoices to customers, issuing dispatch notes when delivering finished products, managing receipts when money is collected, maintaining an inventory of printing raw materials and also providing management level reports such as debtors summary, sales per particular period, income per particular period, etc. The system was developed as a web based system whose architecture was basically ASP.NET 4.0 and C# using .NET framework 4.0 as front end development technologies and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 as the back end database server. Crystal Reports 13.0 was used as the reporting tool and IIS 7.5 was used as the web server.
