Distribution Management System For Yasiru Distributors Panadura

Abstract

In Sri Lanka, Small and medium scale Enterprises (SMEs) play a vital role. Production and process innovation, lead to employment generation and also contribute to the growth of GD. Same way it stimulates other economic activities which are an important part of the national economy. Yasiru Distributors, as a distributing agency, play a major role in Kaluthara district. Sri Lanka act as an intermediate distribution channel of a Large Scale Enterprises. Previously Yasiru Distributors distributed products of well known companies such as Hemas, BCC, MD and Rigam in Kaluthara District but presently they confined only to Raigam Products.Distribution of almost all the products of Rigam is being carried out profitably and effectively. Technology is often considered as a determining factor of the competitiveness of an SME. Also the backwardness of technology can be regarded as one of the major constraints to the development of a competitive and sustainable SME sector in Sri Lanka under present globalization process. Most of the distributing agencies and organizations, which relate to SMEs in Sri Lanka, productivity and competitiveness, cannot be enhanced without technology up gradation and modernization. This project works automates Distribution Management System for Yasiru Distributors which categorized under SME. Web based and this application will take most of the activities such as handling stocks, billing, and report generation and producing daily, weekly, monthly reports to support daily transactions. Distribution Management System is a software which helpful for staff and as well as the sales representatives. In the previous system, all the activities were handled manually which is time consuming and costly. My effort is to reduce such problems as much as possible. Mainly, the following three functions .viz; ? Transactional ? Logistical ? Facilitating The main goal of this project is to develop a proper web based solution for the current problems which will help the management and the staff of the company to enhance their productivity. Structured Analysis and Design methodology are used to design the new system. WAMP is chosen as the development technology with the support of Dreamweaver, CS3,Photoshop CS3ect.., which make the system highly reliable and maintainable.
